Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking an Oracle eBusiness Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Raleigh, NC. Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Postal Services and Solutions group. This is a contract to provide USPS Information Technology with professional, technical and support services to support the application development, database production support, help desk administration, LAN administration and various requirements for distributed technical support throughout the USPS enterprise. Roles and Responsibilities: * Responsibility shall include overall maintenance, administration, monitoring, problem management, and production for Oracle databases. * Daily maintenance including monitoring and database maintenance tasks * Backup & Recovery * Apply patches and upgrade database versions * Install and Build database structures * Develop and maintain shell scripts * Query and performance tuning * Develop and maintain documentation * Program in PL/SQL * Design and build new database structures * Standard schedule will be first shift - Monday through Friday with additional hours and days as required to service emergency situations. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelors degree or an additional 4 years of experience lieu of degree * Minimum of 6 years of Oracle production support DBA experience * 3 Years Oracle eBusiness/Financials experience * Familiarity with architecture, both logical and physical design * RMAN familiarity * Must be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder * Must be able to obtain a Postal Sensitive Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * Local to the RDU / Triangle area (this position does not provide relocation assistance) * Experience with RAC, Dataguard, and ASM * Oracle certification strongly preferred For a listing of all Northrop Grumman open positions, please visit our website at www.careers.northropgrumman.com All applicants are considered on the basis of relevant experience, basic qualifications, expressed interests, training, education, career interests, and other pertinent factors, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or Vietnam-era veteran status.
